The lobby was beautifully decorated for christmas, and the location is really close to haymarket station. We especially loved the friendly staff who helped us with our luggage and allowed early check-in. The room was spacious with a cozy sofa, and the daily hot drinks and pastries in the lobby were a lovely touch.

Huge room in terms of decoration and accommodating staff. Bonus point for iron and ironing board, coffee/tea making machines, and multi-channel television.

The stay here was enjoyable for the weekend. The room was huge and unique in terms of decoration, the staff was accommodating. Everything was very good as expected, nevertheless the bathroom was very small. The location was handy, you can visit Escape by walking. It was set walk from restaurants and bars:)))

The Ritz is a lovely old building with large rooms. It is very comfortable and we really liked having 2 armchairs in our room as well as plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.

The hotel was homey and cool with incredible location short walk to restaurants near by and Princes Street in minutes and Old Town. All in all everything was really good, even so we had very small bathroom.

Good location
* Advertised as having free parking - which it didn't we had to pay £10 daily for parking. * Advertised as breakfast included, however we weren't told that the cooked breakfast was at an extra charge until we came to check out. * Bed was highly uncomfortable * Room was cold * Hotel looked nothing like the pictures on your website * Continental breakfast was poor-minimal choice

Charming character in a great location
The hotel has a nostalgic vibe with unique decor that adds character to your stay. I loved the close proximity to Haymarket Rail Station, and the room was surprisingly spacious and clean. A great option for budget travelers looking for a nice Edinburgh experience.

Central location, good bar, nice staff.
Our room was above the kitchen and the chatting woke us up 7am on Sunday morning :( music in the breakfast room could have been better.

Liked the friendliness of the staff, they were very helpful in all questions asked. For something as close to the Edinburgh Castle, it was a good walking distance.
The breakfast left a lot to be desired for, especially at £7.50 per person. The place seemed to be a little run down and the décor/furnishings wouldn't go amiss for the 1970'S. The dining room was very dark I think, painted black which is less than inviting for breakfast.

Man behind the desk was fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Very clean
The four poster bed advertised in the pictures was nothing like the one we got - ours was a creaky metal framed thing! A few pots of milk out of date too
